Stage 5 - Flower

Here the final textures were added to the flower. Firstly i found a close up of a petal on the Internet and added it to the flower using the material editor. I also added the same image to the 'Bump' map to give the flower a nice texture. Lastly i bumped up the specular level which made it look better in the light.


Stage 4 - Flower

Stage four is where the flower comes to life, this is done by first adding the 'Shell' modifier which brightens up the inside of the flower. Next the 'Mesh smooth' modifier blends the edges of the flower making them neat and smooth.

Stage 3 - Flower

Stage 3 uses the 'Twist' modifier to give the flower a more natural look to the. This gives the flower a nice ripple and it is starting to take shape into a realistic exotic flower.

Stage 2 - Flower

The Second Stage of the flower was to add another 'Taper' modifiers but only using it on the x axis of the flower, this pulls only that side of the flower down giving this effect.

Stage 1 - Flower

This is stage one of my flower. Firstly i used a cylinder and added a soft selection to it. Next I used the 'Taper' modifier to cone one end of the flower.

How to make a straw?

This straw has been made using two tubes and then adding a hose object found in the extended primitives section. The hose was bound to the tube objects. When bound the tubes acted as pivots for the hose and the three parts on the straw became one object.
