Sketches

Here are some sketches I have drawn of things I think of first when I read the brief on biodiversity. The idea of a unborn baby or a newly sprouting plant comes to mind. I also like the earth being the greatest symbol of biodiversity there is because no life has every been found beyond this planet. I will 'try' and incorporate these ideas into my final 3D stamps.

More Stamp Ideas

I had an idea of using plants and animals with the word queen in. This is a spin on the traditional queens head we find on stamps in the UK. These organisms could represent biodiversity and also pay homage to queen Elizabeth. The pictures below are : The Queen Fish (A species of the Croaker fish), The Queen Snake (A non-venomous snake from North America), The Royal Purple Queen (Iocromer, a tube flower), Queen Bee and the Queen Ant.

Stage 2 - Ant

I have now added all the legs to my ant. By using the bevel function on 3D software I was able to join the sections on the legs together seamlessly so that they all look as if they are one object.
